Malaria and armed conflict: the situation of the rural areas on pacific coast of Nariño- Colombia 2003 - 2017

Background:to analyze the epidemiological behavior of malaria, in relation to armed con-flicts presented on Pacific coast Nariño (PCN).Methodology: there was a multi-group ecological study with secondary information sour-ce, frequency malaria (PCN) population, and relationship region, resulting from country’s internal conflict, 2003 2017, analyzed.Results: Armed conflict affects structure healthcare services for both, general population sufferers. The most common affections were infrastructure, reduction number personnel, conservation vaccines medicines, access health care, inability do preventive activities poor presence government PCN area. Moreover, displacement areas where vector abounds increases probability get sick.Conclusions: This found an inversely proportional between fre-quency cases conflict. situation could show that maybe “con-flict” controls malaria. However, it is important clarify be only masking reality PCN, because this region facing stopped accessing prevention programs services, making difficult diagnose, treat, notify public surveillance systems. These aspects con-tribute case during period.
